- Where's Daddy? -

- Where's Daddy? -

A Poem by Colorado Brian
"

The child of a Soldier

"

Daddy, what's the 'ARMY'?

Daddy, what's a gun?

Daddy, will you hold me?

Let's go have some fun

.

Daddy, where you going?

Daddy, what's 'overseas'?

Daddy come home tomorrow

Daddy, come home please.

.

Mommy, where is Daddy?

Mommy, where's he been?

Mommy, when will Daddy

Come home to us again?

.

Mommy, why you crying?

Mommy what is wrong?

Mommy, what is 'dying'?

Will Daddy be gone long?

.

There are many perspectives to consider regarding the topic of war. Here is the perspective from a child who's daddy is a soldier, just before the reality sets in that daddy isn't coming home.
