I Hear You EverydayA Poem by Colleen
I believe that you choose
Silence. Turned your back. You neither whisper nor shout. You are no longer with me. For what other answer is there? Your silence is my loneliness. Instead I hear wind, Chain of a swing, Skin of an apple crunch, Rhythms of a woodpecker, Tears running on cheeks, Dances of energetic evenings, Voiced joy in breathy laughter. Ah. I hear You every day. Subtlety is not silence. I have never been alone. © 2020 Colleen |
