Out of the Dark

When you hurt so much you cannot create joy

Days go by

as the world despises

my feelings toward myself

To give up

when all is not lost

is a sign to be taken carefully

Don’t give up

never give in to the pain

try hard to continue on with your happiness

Into light

Out of the dark

Pain is gone, within a blink

Try as you may

I will not go back

You think you won

You can never win

In the light

In the day

Thrust from dark

Thrust from pain

You came through

When you least expected to

Give yourself credit

Where credit is due

Out of the dark

Once again

Life’s own triumphs

Have no end.

It feels like a lifetime since I wrote last.

It was months for me, then all of a sudden I wrote like 5 pieces in one week. It's just something that's very hard to shake that we all become immune to.

Writing compositions in English class was my favorite part of school, so I can identify with that. My friends thought I was nuts, but it taught me well.

I like the way this piece moves from dark to hope. I have only one question, should it be Days gone by, the world's despise or Days gone by the world despises?
