Poem for my dear nephew, Gavin.

From one so young

To one so old

Let me share

What the future holds

In your eyes I see

Wisdom to last eternity

Power to shelter those from harm

And love to keep others warm

I see Strength in your eyes

That which can reach the skies

You have a gift, strong and true

And it’s growing inside of you

Express yourself to the world

And the sail of life will be unfurled.

Glide along the ocean of time

Until one day, you reach the line.

The way will be very clear

The river will guide you here

And at the end of it all

I will be waiting, standing tall

My nephew is autistic and has been expressing things about the world that I can connect to. This is for him.
