Silent Sounds

Silent Sounds

A Poem by Colie
"

Sometimes the loudest screams are the silent ones.

"

The fear

Strikes up

The tears

Fall down,

She hides

Behind

Her living room

Couch,

Listening

To all

The nightly

Sounds,

As she

Just fades

Into the

Blackened

Background.

He screams

He yells

He slurs

He fell

He’s passed out

Sprawled across

His living room

Couch.

The monster

He battles

Every evening

Night

Kills him

Slowly

Leaving her

With

A fright.

He drinks

One

He drinks

Two

The Monster

Has captured

Him and

Has cut

Right through.

The fear

Strikes UP

The tears

Roll DOWN

She hides behind

Her living room

Couch

Listening

To all

Of the

Nights

Silent Sounds.

Truly heart breaking. I know people who live like this every night and every day they write beautifully strung words. It's horrible how such amazing poetry can come out in such a horrible time. Once again though, beautiful flow.
