The Way a Leaf Takes the Rain

The Way a Leaf Takes the Rain

A Poem by Nicolette Robinson

be jealous
of the way a leaf
can take the rain.

one drop at a time,
letting the storm
cascade off of its back.

never cursing the clouds,
only being aware
of the thirst of
a strong root.

giving way to receive
the slippery wet
of God's grace.
