Pain is LoveA Poem by Colettethe title says it all
orange spice tea
a car in need of repairs
white chocolate cookie
i’m the customer with flair
my dreams are haunting me
my mother brought me Chris
he held a ring case
she held a smile
i knew she would soon be dead
as are all the dreams i have of her
but i just want to hang on to her
longer
just a little longer
she was going to go in peace
because she knew we’d be together
i felt a peace
because i knew we were going to be
together
inevitably i awake
hollow
missing them both
and i find myself thinking
thoughts of the virgin
a tattoo on my back
shopping carts and
sandwiches
tears overlapping tears
years overlapping years
am i really meant to touch
these lives
them mine?
his life progressed
as all humans do
i’m happy for him, however,
wanting his happiness
has only lead
to my own despair
