Let Me BeA Poem by ColetteBeing a different breed of woman
Let me be the one you tell all your secrets to The one you kiss and tell to Let me be the one you cry to
Let me be your lover.
No grandiose expectations of monogamy in a seriously faltered world of misogyny I’d rather be a woman of polyandry taking 2...maybe 3...lovers
Who adore me!
Yeah I’d rather be the woman you run to than the one who a man lies to stays away late at night to escape from too one who has a ring, but a gaping crack that you have slipped through
Fall to your knees - for me Pay homage to my soft skin Kiss my scars and everything in between between my legs " for me
Be devoted to me!
but not in a matrimonial sense that is such a farce for so many who are hell and heaven bent No! Be the one who I know will be there if I just sometimes...just sometimes need to cry
Cuz u know...I’m always smiling through those tears Cuz u know I’ve got hella some humor inside of me... Let me be the one who makes you laugh When you need it and when you don’t
Let me be the one you can count on to stay when the rest of the world goes MIA When the one you built a glass house with casts those stones When she deceives you, because
You know this wasn’t all one sided.
Let me hold your pain Let me hold you Let me kiss you until your thoughts bury themselves in your lost memory Let me make love to you, and
Let us both numb ourselves to the troubles of those supposed relationships the economy the people who fuse anger and greed
Let us climb onto each other into each other Make it feel like we’re one body One soul
Let me be the one you whisper all your secrets to The one you kiss and tell to Let me be your lover.
Tonight
Before we have to wake and face the fake I love you’s all over again. © 2013 ColetteAuthor's Note
