A Poem by Colette
"

Language of Love - Writing Challenge for the Almost Dead Poets Society using select antiquated slang for love from Dictionary.com

"

I suppose you fancy me

They all do...all those

you’s, you and you!

They flirt with me

Unforget me...un un unforgettable

Me

Sweet Nothings in earshot

in texts

Sweet.  Then Nothing.

Head over Heels I’ve heard it.

Forever, yeah, I will always love you...

Infatuation.

We’re going steady, somehow

it’s gotten what some call serious

Yeah, though unspoken.

Are we supposed to be careful on Facebook?

People ain’t supposed to know we’re an item?

Are they?

Why Not?!

This is puppy love!

And I love on puppies real good.

Yes!  I think

I could be lovey-dovey with you

Let the lovebird into my caged bird cage.

Until you decide to pop the question...

You know...“Would you...........

be mad if I saw other people?”

Then I go.

Then you miss me.

Then you call me...

Post Valentine’s Day.
