I'm Not Bad...I'm just drawn this way

I'm Not Bad...I'm just drawn this way

A Poem by Colette
"

yeah...people making assumptions...again.

"

You think because I’m 36x26x36 - practically

a brick house -

that Mmmm you’d like to

do

me

You think because you see my legs

my arms

wrapped around my torso

that’s it’s an invitation for

you

That someone took that picture and

you

want it to be

you

Even when I’ve told you - for

years -

I photograph myself

You think if I photograph

you

that it will lead to sex

You think if you pretend to care about art - my

art -

that will get you somewhere

You blew it when you called me

artsy

You don’t know

me

How could you possibly understand

me

You don’t ask questions - not

about anything relevant -

anyway

You think if I’m not f*****g

you

I must be f*****g someone

else

Or something

must be wrong with

me

You think I must not like sex

then

You tell me you like sex

Well honey

it’s been my experience those

self-professed sex addicts are

the worst.

Yes honey, the worst I’ve had

The best is when reciprocated love is

present

But what would you know about that?

You think

Oh wow

She’s lonely

let me help her out

I don’t want your married

a*s

Your call yourself in a committed relationship

a*s

your playing

a*s

I don’t want

you.

If you want to be my friend prove

it

Cuz even if you don’t spell it out

I see

it

in your eyes and read between

the lines

And I’m just saving us both the trouble of

you

going from thinking I’m an angel

to a b***h when

I

spell it out for

you

that I’m not interested in

you

sexually or maybe

BECAUSE I JUST WANT SOMETHING DEEPER

and maybe

I

would have went there with

you

if you didn’t bail when

I

didn’t jump

you

at Hello or

when I open my mouth to speak and

prove I have a mind and

heart

NO

You don’t want me to talk but

you

can dump your fucked up past all over

my

compassionate soul

Go to church maybe

you

can find - no not maybe

I hear you can -

plenty

who

will f**k

you

or

suck

you

there

You know teenage girls will blow hundreds

of guys

before they give their so-called virginity to

the man

they marry at age 19 when

they live under religious rule

Did you know that?

Girls and women who

look demure sometimes are

the ones who’ve had more

men

under their belt than

some porn stars

some grow up to be

porn stars - even

Mormons -

Oui, c’est vrai

But

me

and

my

artistic allure

Me

who photographs nudes revealing

less

than Renaissance paintings

Me

who works fingers to bone

bone marrow transplant

Weird Science

Franken - yes

Hooker - no

Me

who never went

there

I have spent an eternity

alone.
