SheA Poem by ColetteShe walks like an Everglades moon She kisses like a wet sunset The corner of her mouth is Lake Superior
She dips fire in morning glories Wades a see saw with her hips Rocks a concert with her eyes
To her, a big O is like a carnival Ferris wheel, and every stuffed dog is rightfully hers
Pockets full of betrayals Brushes and combs, and belly chains Buttons coming down...to....here.
She rides a breeze like a surfboard Elopes with tomorrow’s uncertainty Whistles little melodies of an Irish possum and skis on sand to the end of the rainbow
Purple is her favorite color Her charm bracelet is heavier than she is Sneakers filled with yesterday’s adventure and turnips and broccoli grow in her windowsill
Where did she lose her gift? Her Tinkerbelle? Her white bear?
Why is the fabric on her couch now plaid? When I know she prefers pastels.
Why does she allow him to curb her enthusiasm? When I know she’d rather be skydiving from a divided ceiling of rubble than riches.
She twirls like a tree seed She floats like dandelion fuzz She smiles like a cosmic apocalypse She...
