William Liston,
"When it Rains In Summer"
You have brought out-long moments of melancholy expressed from natures eyes to yours; first stanza, "another day watching sprinkling rain..earth fades to a cloud of gray."
Then your emotional color has faded just as the sky's brightness of color becomes dulled. Second stanza, line one; "The sun's gleaming colors vanish in the clouds..... 3rd-4th line; dripping rain taps against sunken ground."
3r stanza; "I can't remember why I'm crying..father's blade...." Such a sad thing to ponder.
Much tears and processing within this place of deep sadness; even mourning.
""to embrace this sorrow; after all, it's just another heartache, another pain, another tear, and sadly...another day.
Dark day, dark time. Life is hard at times and this one gave it voice.
Beautiful.

Not too fond? why not? I'm TOO fond of it! not because I'm fond of rain, but also because of the maturity of the emotional depths and feelings You've brilliantly expressed! I found my heart in Your words, my feelings when rain falls over my heart, it's like when it washes the earth, the air, it washes our hearts and spirits, there is no reason for our tears sometimes, but that gentle wistfulness that embracre our cores, and flow through us, like drops of rain, exactly like Your poem does to us, the thought that stands for me, is rain in Summer, it's real sadness of the heart, that even the nature outside bonds with this sadness, and turns it into rain...
Enchanting piece of emotions dear William, You should be proud of it, not to mention the soft saddened perfect photo to go alive with Your words.
