Behind Her BeautyA Poem by William Listonresembles a ballad; was meant to be a love poemThose eyes of yours disguise what pours in weltering rains of hurt. Your radiant face and brimming grace, in deepest dark divert. Your dulcet whispers, comely smile ... yet still, you feel so weak. The lonesome whiles and moments vile are hidden when you speak. Your lilting voice, such eloquent speech, in truth, they wish to tell of searing pain ~ its piercing peak, how living life's been hell. The scaring tears upon your cheek reflect dire feelings blue, yet all the pain that life can bring has never dimmed your hue!
