Behind Mine EyesA Poem by Cole SpireBehind Mine Eyes
By Matthew S. Van Hove
All you see is the blue in my eyes, The smile on my face, The glow to my cheeks.
But you don't read what lies behind them. Or how they look out at the world in disgust. Even being Hypocritical at times makes them more than just blue orbs.
Behind the blue smile, Lies pain and suffering. Caused by the world at large.
No one thing really makes them water. No one person makes then burn with anger. It is the masses that cause them to do both.
More personal relationship can crumble behind those orbs. Thoughts falling into place like building blocks of revenge. Even knowing they are just immagination makes me worry.
Do I think like the normal person? Would my friends understand what is going on? Are my thoughts even close to the social line called normal?
This I highly doubt and it scares me to no end. Things that flow beyond my eyes, Make me wonder just how human I really am.
I feel pain, joy, sorrow, hatred, happiness, and all the others. But it is what my catagorical selections tell me I need to show. Be just like everyone else.
How much longer do I do this? How much longer before it becomes too much? How much longer do I withstand the tests of my time before i react how my mind calls me to?
I don't know, You don't know, No one knows. © 2008 Cole Spire |
