A Friend's Prayer

written because i realized my friends and family are the true meaning of life.

A Friends Prayer:

To a Higher Power,
I ask you to forgive me.
Forgive me for being selfish,
Because i have been very selfish indeed.
I want to keep my friends.
Keep them to myself and never let them go.
They keep me
They hold me
They care for me.
Without them I am nothing but a husk.
Let them know all they do for me.
Let me keep them and grow with them.
A shell of a man would I be if they left.
They lift my spirit when i wish to have none,
They make me force a frown to keep from smiling,
They make me hide a chuckle when i want to cry.
And they hold me when the others don't work.
These friends are special
These friends I wish to have all my life.
Forgive me for being selfish,
Because if i wasn't
I wouldn't know what I was missing.
I will continue to be selfish untill my last breath,
And it is because of this that i care so much,
Without them, I wouldn't be praying to you now.
With out them I am nothing.
So forgive me for being selfish, but if you had friends like this
Wouldn't you be selfish too?
