Pulchritudinous

Pulchritudinous

A Poem by Cole Hayley
"

The ignorance of youth.

"

Pulchritudinous

When we were young,

We walked on the edge of the universe,

Gliding on top of a solar flair.

Our peril into the unknown,

Signified the ignorance of youth.

But more importantly it made us immortal.

We were stumbling onto an enticing dream,

One filled wIth billions of planets,

And the constant reflection of starlight in your eyes.

A dream that would become a memory,

Of you and I.

The supernova that we called our love

Was in full view that night,

And It illuminated our inseparable embrace

And made shadows along the stars.

Oh how it made you radiate.

It outlined your incomparable statuesque,

And sent shivers through the universe.

I felt every single vibration of your pulchritudinous,

It blew me backwards and sent a shockwave amongst the horizon,

Sending stars crashing into each other.

We were staring down the end of time,

But it had become something so much more meaningful then that.

It was  the big bang,

the start of a new beginning.

This new beginning will fall on everyone.

Some people will call it death,

others will call it "growing up".

I just want you to know,

That no matter what happens from now on,

All I need is just a single memory.

About how when we were young,

We walked on the edge of the universe...

Absolutely beautiful, I can see this in my mind. I love it. What some may say is awkward I saw as amazing detail. I loved it :D

Nice imagery, as always, and I like the piece overall. I think that the flow could perhaps be tampered with a little and feel that perhaps some words are in there for the 'novelty'; specifically pulchritudinous. Good title, but I don't think it's necessary in the piece...
Most of all I like the story you've told here. Almost like a memory of a first love/boyfriend..
Thanks for sending. =]

I like this over all but there are a few awkward spots.. incomparable statuesque.. is one of them.. walking on the edge of the universe.. or gliding on a solar flair..??? wonderful..

The beginnings and endings of young first love will play a memory in your heart, even in your last days on earth I believe. This is not too cosmic for me. Perhaps because I'm a Sag and we're said to see the larger picture?

I'm a Sagittarius as well, and this was excellent. Very well written and well done.
Similar story to the last poem it seems. A young love full of power being broken up.

The cosmic theme and elevated language were handled nicely but a little grand for my personal taste. My love affairs are represented by a thoughtful cup of tea and a chat and if we do walk, it's usually so we can feel cosy in our bubble and watch everyone else, not on the edge of the universe. My new beginnings are softer and my endings crunch less.

Nor do I feel 'every single vibration of pulchritudinous,' which is not to say it's a bad bit of writing, it's just so big and grand and cosmic that it makes me yearn for something a little smaller and cosier.
