Pulchritudinous

Pulchritudinous

A Poem by Cole Hayley
"

The ignorance of youth.

"

Pulchritudinous

When we were young,

We walked on the edge of the universe,

Gliding on top of a solar flair.

Our peril into the unknown,

Signified the ignorance of youth.

But more importantly it made us immortal.

We were stumbling onto an enticing dream,

One filled wIth billions of planets,

And the constant reflection of starlight in your eyes.

A dream that would become a memory,

Of you and I.

The supernova that we called our love

Was in full view that night,

And It illuminated our inseparable embrace

And made shadows along the stars.

Oh how it made you radiate.

It outlined your incomparable statuesque,

And sent shivers through the universe.

I felt every single vibration of your pulchritudinous,

It blew me backwards and sent a shockwave amongst the horizon,

Sending stars crashing into each other.

We were staring down the end of time,

But it had become something so much more meaningful then that.

It was  the big bang,

the start of a new beginning.

This new beginning will fall on everyone.

Some people will call it death,

others will call it "growing up".

I just want you to know,

That no matter what happens from now on,

All I need is just a single memory.

About how when we were young,

We walked on the edge of the universe...

"About how when we were young,
We walked on the edge of the universe..."
Thank you for the good description in the amazing poem. You made me think this early morning.

My favorite of your writes so far, you have made her come alive in our eyes, made her bloom and shoot across the vast expanse, very well done!

I had a curious dream one time when someone brought me to the edge of the universe and pointed out the rest of the void to me. It implied to me that there's plenty more space, ' go ahead and make of it as you will.' Its a happy place that you have chosen to be at.

Solar
flare. No "i".

My only comment is that "it outlined your incomparable statuesque" makes no sense. If you change it to "stature" it would be 100% perfect. Love reviewing your poetry, as always.

Your imagery is clearly wonderful, like an artist painting a masterpiece. "It blew me backwards and sent a shockwave amongst the horizon, Sending stars crashing into each other." This line shows off your ability to manipulate words into meaning what you want them to mean. Your word choice is beautifully chosen however I feel your flow is sometimes interupted, perhaps that could be toyed with. I am not going to lie I was lured to this piece by your extensive vocabulary. The title "Pulchritudinous" is not commonly used, and I have not seen it in another piece of writing, however my mother and I used to read the dictionary when I was younger so, I had knowledge of the word. Never the less wonderful piece, I enjoyed it :D

Dear Cole,

A very moving piece, filled with emotion. The "cosmic" setting of the piece works very well.

Greatly enjoyed and high marks.

Best regards,

Rick
