SymbolicA Poem by Cole Hayley"The dark end of the highway"Symbolic. I've been in chains for so long now, In the shade of the moon. As its reflection shown off the brick walls And glistened off my sweat, The fallen angles fell right in front of us. Everyday a new one tumbles. Their breath is as cold as ours, With their wings clipped And the cage door left open. Distorted faces And a disjointed pace. They spit on us when they walk by Cursed and beautiful, Even on the dark end of the highway. I saw them run through the cornfields Flames on their back, Snakes in their hair. I don't understand the symbolism If there is any. Maybe they are just doing it for kicks.
To kill some time. I've been tortured for so long now, In the midst of an eclipse Between the heavens and the singularity. Amongst angles and men. And I still can't point out whats so cryptic Of creatures killing for fun. I don't get the logic, But I don't question it either. © 2012 Cole HayleyAuthor's Note
