![]() MelatoninA Poem by Cole Hayley![]() This is a poem from my poetry book Serotonin. This is my first entry here. This poem was written on impulse one night when I woke up from a weird dream. I tried to pour all the emotion of it in here.![]() Tomorrow morning you'll open your eyes, Just like every other morning. But this time everything will be silent. Everything will feel so right. Last night was so strange, You drifted off in the middle of the hall. Fell through the floor and landed in the basement, Just like you were some kind of ghost. You must have been so lonely down there, And I have to admit, If I could commit. I would have smashed my way down there too. Without grace, as usual. I knew you always were a sleepwalker. But the funny thing is you always walk backwards. Its like you're always trying to go back to something, Thinking you can rewind it all, As long as you go in reverse. I've told you so many times that life is rehearsed, But you'll never see the final cut. The ending is never finished, Because the ending is when you die.
As grim as that sounds. Cheer up.. I still can promise you one thing, Tomorrow morning you'll open your eyes. Just like every other morning.. © 2012 Cole HayleyAuthor's Note
