Waitress

Waitress

A Poem by Cole Hayley

Waitress

We're in a restaurant
We're sitting on the deck
With a beer and a glass
That you've spit in

"There, drink me up",
you say

I know the taste
I've tasted it before
And you have the priciest cup

The outdoor heater,
A dumb waiter to the lord
I tell him "good work"
It's what I ordered

You did me right
