There On That Sad Height

There On That Sad Height

A Poem by Cole Hayley

And enclosed, The End

Hurl thy body limb with limb

Whole and unaltered, this complete mass

An unflattering, floundering, swift jive and jab

On countless black.

Beat of hearts, coordinate,

The curtain drawn, and warped age.

Where the sounds dip or rise with claps

We will unmask the undeniably human fad;

An angst of endless black.

Not sure if I'm getting this ... other than perhaps the winter was particularly harsh this year.

I found this piece really lyrical in an open-ended way. I feel it can be interpreted in many different ways. Like one would an artsy foreign movie. Well done Cole!
