This is dedicated to every writer on the site. I personally believe this to be the best poem I have, myself, written. Curious to know what you guys think. This is very personal. Fuel & Pollen, part 7
The Poet
Poetic influx, blueprints of a magnetic hallucinogenic; Ebullience. Scatterbrained,
words manifest into beautiful inquiries, borne attenuated, nourished into connotation.
Oh how the rhymes pulsate in my brain's milky offal, I can see them materialize in front of me. Patterns, geometric in actuality. Laymen fumble when they try to outreach their grasp ; although they fall in my lap.
Compulsory, I feel. How I must arrange them into a portrait.
Sleepless, I feel. They intend to increase their pheromones.
Tales, gloomy and saturated with dreadful; hermetical, memories.
Clashing, thrashing, against the ones who know less,
ones who hold no purpose of decoding,
men and women I have met.
Land, sky, caffeinated neurones, all sing their siren song to get me
here. Along the shoreline, they ask what it all means. The tide ascends.
This poem is something I am very proud of. Indirectly it is the most personal piece I have ever written, because I write these so often it really does take a toll on me. I wrote this right off of writers block which is kinda fitting. The ending lines "Along the shoreline they ask what it all means. The tide ascends" is a direct reference to the poem "Introduction To Poetry" by Billy Collins, where he writes:
I want them to waterski
across the surface of a poem
waving at the author's name on the shore.
But all they want to do
is tie the poem to a chair with rope
and torture a confession out of it.
They begin beating it with a hose
to find out what it really means.
- I read that poem in grade twelve, and it really stuck out to me. Thats basically what this poem is about, how people don't take creative writing for just the joy of reading but always wanting some concret answer as to what its about. The tide ascending is exactly that.
This is Fuel and Pollen part 7, the closing poem will be posted tomorrow.

A fine piece of poetic prose. Descriptive of the thought processes of a poet.I find that when I start to write with a fixed intention in mind that the writing takes control and becomes something other.
"writing reflects one's wishes, regrets and aspirations" thank you for posting something this beautiful , this is where I can take journey when all is too complicated for me. Thank you.
Yes, it's like that! Writing poetry.
A most well-painted picture.

I LOVE THE NIN SONG, had it on my page a two months ago I think, thank you for your beautiful poem to all of us. We all are eye-opened for what is true beauty, as your words are special, and capture the whole audience. Thank you for being you, and share your thoughts, with the cafe, truly appreciated.
Cole, you have such a unique style and never fail to leave me awed in a muddle of words and thoughts. What I like about this piece, and this is just me personally, is what I am getting from it...and that is a sensation as if I am sitting in the middle of a cafe and everyone is staring at me and it is like they know something I don't and I am just trying to drink my cappaccino. Oh, and thank you for reminding me of NIN. I haven't listened to them since grade school! Very interesting read, my friend.
words from a truly visionary poet. poets see the world in an artistic way where the rest of the world may not be able to see and is our job to conceptualize and share our vision. both for our own edification as well as our fulfillment. excellent way to articulate your thoughts and inspiration.
A mix of personalities in a poem that professes to being merely a confession of that. The last line goes further than all the previous when it asks ' what it all means.' Maybe it doesn't mean anything. Maybe, like what a man once said, we represent the ' beginingless, endless, unchanging ' nature of life.
one of your best pieces cole. just beggars description. blunt yet elusive at the same time.this should be part 8,a beginning to revelations cant be better than this
