Glass Stamens

Glass Stamens

A Poem by Cole Hayley

Glass Stamens

Blossom into your inexpensive prodigy

budding out from our tarnished commodities

while keeping petals with raindrops for eyelashes.

Oh waterfall will you run through my veins?

Teardrops confess to the coruscating sunshine

bleaching out their profitable properties

All along the silver cities…

Fear what you will and what you might never understand

the flowers will still bloom along the edges of forest fires

fragile in their wits and fragile in their stamens.

Oh waterfall will you grow fairy wings.

To keep the purity incased in our rocky fissure

alongside the minerals and gleaming pearls

and in the comfort of sterile angels.

Stay patient.

Stay pure.

Blossom into my precious paragon

planted in the most beryl coloured flower pot.

while keeping petals with raindrops for eyelashes.

Always a pleasure to fall into your words. Artwork and thoughts took me in and left me with question. No weakness in the excellent poem.

I like the image of the eyelashes, with raindrops in them. Beautiful.

Italicized words are lame. They are thrusting the mood at the reader/me and it's a little arrogant to encompass such a lovely poem with two weird lines.

The mime of love reaches out and supports many forms for its delight and pleasure. It seeks to fulfill a requited sense of itself and keep it that way for all time. But alas the wisps of nature takes the object of affection away from it and turns it into a daily life of grocery and homework.

Where its sighs get louder and more impatient, it may well do something about it.

Very brilliant Cole, very brilliant indeed and as usuall for you....The beauty of your words over maskes the complication of them...And that in itself is something very hard to accomplish in my book....I knew you had a very keen sense for using amazing words with great definition....This is unlike any of your other poems though....Usually I see more of a dark and gloomy side when you write but this is beautiful...Excellent and superbly done my friend!!!
