and this is how it starts

and this is how it starts

A Poem by Daniel Atkinson
"

inspired by the light bulb in my room.

"
and this is how it starts--
a crackling light bulb
and spilled coffee
on the rug.
i am like a braying sheep
to intelligent ears.

someday
lesser men will heckle me
about funeral expenses
the rent
and overdue taxes:
fiscal issues.
trifles.

sometimes i feel like
god
and maybe hell too.

self-empowerment works wonders
on a sinner's soul.

For being so young, you surely have a strong grasp on the heavy subjects. Awesome work, Cole.

I'm afraid this was either on a subject I am entirely unfamiliar on, or too ambiguous for me to interpret. Regardless, the images evoked were sharp and well worded..inbox me an explanation, if you would.
