blockbusterA Poem by Daniel Atkinson
i dunno, kinda feels like i'm drivin' myself outta town on horseback,
only the the horse is an a*s, and i mean that in the old-fashioned sense of the world, but i'm no linguist because i can't talk like an e. e. cummings poem, the ones with all those parentheses and abrupt indentations and other literary bullshit like footprints (feetprints?) fading on a shallow trail, and i know i should give up the hunt because the b*****d got away, but everyone in the search party keeps their noses to the ground because they see themselves as leads in a paul greengrass thriller film, and in movies the bad guy never gets away, never, so the critics and the fans will crucify this blockbuster on a leather cross, and i'll just stand behind the camera, laughing as i think of how this whole mess will look on the big screen. © 2011 Daniel AtkinsonAuthor's Note
