may i?

may i?

A Poem by Daniel Atkinson
"

let me.

"
allow me
to whisper
to your heart.
i promise,
i'll tell it
nice things.
i'll tell it
how i cry
in wonder
every time
i hear
it sing.

i'll watch it
smile at me,
with its teeth
of fresh
tomorrows,
and i'll
flash my own
in reply.

my lips
to your chest,
i'll take
your heart's hand,
and like
red wine
and frank sinatra,
i'll whisper--
let's dance.

dude, wow. I could talk to you for quite awhile how I feel about this poem, but sadly I'm never able to communicate these things in writing (ironic, isn't it). Just know, this sort of blew me away as it was the first poem i read from you, high expectations, lol.
