necessary depression.

i'm looking at the world
through a pair of you-colored glasses,
and everything's gray.

only that's not the best way to describe it.
more like a wretched-smokey-nothingness
choking-me-on-its-sour-dejection
kind of color,
but gray is so much more simple.

i hate the way this feels,
my stomach of butterflies turned to bats,
so you can't call me a masochist.
but without these you-colored glasses,
i'd be so...
blind.

A bad relationship that I went through. As horrible as it was, I found it impossible to leave her.

Love is indeed the poison that keeps us alive. But it is only when we let go of that poison do we die, only to be saved by another vial. Thus the course continues until one is content with the toxicity of their romance.

I think this does a prety good job of capturing how a person can be dependent on a relationship they know is bad. I do wish it was longer, though.
