Dragonfly

Dragonfly

A Poem by Coldwind

It shouldn't have mattered

But it did.

You were a hobby, a toy

But I clung to you like a child.

I made you from nothing

Into something everyone wanted.

You ached to stretch those wings

I had woven.

I cried when you flew away

To perch outside her window.

You shouldn't have mattered

But you did.
