A Poem by Vertigo Cat1111

Batteries in my head
Heart full of lead
Stomach filled with dread

Surreal lights
And traumatic fights

Some 60’s singer in my ear
Always telling me to reel back to the years
Before I died for the first time

What else is new?

Going through a moment of dread, perhaps loss, perhaps fear or even anger, but this wont be the first time...we all seem to" die" many times in our lifetime for different reasons.... but the body heals, and so the mind, and we try to move on...don't listen to those 60's singers anymore...short, but great, love it!

Very sad thoughts expressed of a love gone wrong when it was sought so strong ...

Certain writing makes me smile. I can't explain it. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does its cool.

"Batteries in my head"
Great line.

I know what you mean- your review is so appreciated and put a smile on my own face.
I think that's Steely Dan. (Reelin in the Years) I just say, "Oh well, a touch of gray kind of suits me anyway." Grateful Dead I enjoyed the read.

I just got the feeling here in this short piece, of same old, same old. First stanza ain't a good place to be. We all get a share of trauma, though some get more than others. I think we can die many times, before it's final. Thank you Cat.

I could go back there and feel reborn...I am sure of it...
"I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now" (Dylan)

this poem really speaks to me...as the world today scares me more than the Missile Crisis and the draft did.
