I really like this composition….it seems as though you were a bit of a rabble rouser when you were younger…I sense a lonely tone here as well….but happy that your “ friend” remembered you, returned , kind of raggedy, but you’re happy as a clam no matter what he looks like. “he’s golden to you”

The parting of ways with a person that has touched our life deeply is always hard. And "I will remember you." while true, always feels too empty to be appropriate. And that feeling immediately musters a sense of just having a transitory, ghost-like effect of the world. And yet, despite the changing of the world, your feelings about such people can be golden because they have touched you, and you have touched them. Beautifully written.
