Half Asleep

I compared your voice to a hallway
You pinned it down and killed my greatest fear with your bare hands
You transformed it into whatever you could tweak and use

Now I’ll drink any and every flavor of your wine
Because you always stand taller than me
We are one in the same
We are one crude little thing

You drink whatever I make you
In a robe shuffled over your white bra
You stand so tall
God, you stand so tall

Watching pigments bloom on your eyelids
Dancing between curtains like a kid
Your touch always sends me to a cul de sac lake where I’m always half asleep and eternally at peace
