‘Everything’s growing in our garden.’- Phoebe Bridgers

Without you my sentences are incomplete
I’m fine with this feeling
For the rest of my life
I like it
When you enjoy yourself
Taking my jar of creative juices
Off the shelves
Maybe I can’t write a grand novel
So I’ll still try even harder
But maybe I’ll write a ‘you’ book
It’ll probably just be filled with rhymes about how good you look
Just before
The beginning of quarantine
The beginning of the ending
I was beginning to lose me
My morals
My options
Begging for lavender lasting clues
Kind of funny that the time I planned to post this one aligns pretty well, even if it’s a bit older. Also, tip for people who haven’t figured it out yet, like me, though I’m sure everyone has- you don’t need to rhyme your words to be good. What you have to say is the poetry itself. Just something that’s helped me recently. Can’t wait to post even more, I have so much poetry to get out.

It makes me think thats this relationship brings out the best in each party. One party makes the other one try harder, be more creative and be their own best person they can be. And thats all we can ask for in relationships, a loving partner, happiness, and for your best qualities to shine in their presence! Thanks for sharing!

It sounds as if you are criticizing someone's whose poetry you do not like. I guess this person likes to rhyme and poetry is not all about rhyme.... in fact mostly what I write is free verse. Poetry is moods, emotions, happenings, life, death and should be free to say how one feels... just plain free verse.
Nice write.
Best, B
Wow! this is so great my dear! so very well written with real power to it! NEVER lose yourself or your talent for ANYONE! and one day... one day someone will come naturally to You, appreciating You, who You are, your poetry, the way You express love through it. we are poets if we love someone we shows them through our words others can have other ways but it's the main way for us to do so because our words are precious, it is us, the essence of us flowing... well ok sometimes we exaggerate too with our feelings and the absence of the beloved to create and write :> I know You get me here. love love love this one, a truly exceptional piece, Bravo my friend!

Rhyme or free verse, it's all good
the thing about poetry is it's always
there when you need it..like a trusty
old tool to help you get through the
the harsh realities life throws your way
I myself find it pacifies.
.nice work.. much enjoyed

Here's to finding lasting happiness or temporary happiness for that matter; just happiness that makes you forget the misery would be nice. Certainly poetry doesn't have to rhyme, rhyme has to rhyme but not poetry. Rhyme is a much maligned art form though because so much of it has been written so badly by so many. The late, great Leon Russell said it wonderfully in his song, "A Song for You" which is one of my favorites, "I've been so many places in my life and time/I've sung a lot of songs, I've made some bad rhymes/
I've acted out my life in stages/With ten thousand people watching
But we're alone now, and I'm just singing this song for you" My favorite line from that song is, "I love in a place where there's no space or time" That just makes my eyes sweat. You know old men never cry. Our eyes just sweat from time to time. ;) This was lovely and a pleasure to read, Vertigo. I enjoyed. F.
