Cardigan To CapeA Poem by Vertigo Cat1111‘The doctor put her hands over my liver. She told me my resentment's getting smaller,-‘ Phoebe Bridgers
There’s nothing wrong with changing your hairstyle
Especially when you’ve been lost in the blue for a while You were there for me When it all fell down On the living room floor It wasn’t enough time I needed more Thought it was applause Just the echoes Of clapping Left from someone so much more talented than me They’re leaving, not laughing It’s a Christmas kind of light beam We all know thunder will beat lightning Capes are cardigans just with a lighter sky and ladybugs beneath I’m so far from home, so far away Underneath the glowing blue sky I’m so proud of this and all the time They spent showing me how to over shine My worse enemies I hate to rely on this It’s so scary You look so wrong without your necklace Running upstairs, laughing cause we found home and an old list Dusty But home Golden brown and cloudy gray A new way To face the next day To race to first pay I went from cardigan to cape All the choices I made dedicated to keeping up your ruins I hate But I’d do it all again I’ve decided to do it all again My old renegade, my new friend © 2022 Vertigo Cat1111Author's Note
