‘You could hide beside me, maybe for a while, and I won't tell no one your name’- Goo Goo Dolls
I’d do anything
For you to be near
I wish you were here
When the world was cruel
You were kind
When I lost everything
You jumped in my arms
You were mine
I’d give my left arm, right foot
Left foot, right arm
You always healed the harm
You were always the perfect charm
And now I’ve sounded the alarm
I’d cut off my legs
Just get you here safe
I’d chop off my arms
Just to find that fluorescent farm
Interesting image, "fluorescent farm".....maybe with black light cows that glow in the dark.
This is quite the professing of love...the subject of this poem would be very lucky to be loved this much.
I would chop off my pen to be able to write this honestly...with no metaphors...just straightforward, in your face kind of writing.
I am too sneaky with mine, I am afraid.

Thank you so, so much! I appreciate it endlessly again (:
The poem stressed the concern, the love dear poet. I do understand. I would fight and die for my children, my grandchildren. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Boy what love is expressed here; to cut off limbs is quite a feat for love, to sacrifice so much is true love and whatever that fluorescent farm must be amazing to sacrifice one’s arms…..but love is blind and some will do strange things to hold it and caress it.
Best, B.

Thank you so much for the review, I appreciate it so much. (:
Such strong feelings of yearning for a significant other who can certainly raise the passion stakes in the author. Enjoyed the read Vertigo Cat. Good poetry shared here.

Thank you, so so much! Your reviews are so kind and I always appreciate them (:
A very powerful poem on the the lengths of love we feel. The sacrifices we would make to hold onto that love, whether rhetorical or not. To lose that love feels like pieces of us dieing any way. This emotive piece reminds me of sacrifices I made in my life to cling to love. Wonderful poem Colacat.
