The trees
Snowflakes thrown at me
The ones that set me free
Only mattered when you said

I think the medicine is healing me
Laying over just what I need

To the castle on the moon

Stars swinging from trees
Blocks ABCs
Chocolate milkshake
Lavender earthquake

Press the rain to my neck
Run the storms hands all down the emotional wreck that is me
Make Sundaes
And make a mess
You’re my diamond chest
Become the super villain
The antagonist that outshines the rest
Peach popsicles and safe in you like a swing in tropical lands

A room of innocence and happiness
Pastels and safety

Warm cookies and spicy food
Eternally, my dude

Keep your love
Swinging over my head

I’m gonna try to make my bed
While you capture the air’s essence and bring back the dead

Loving you
Is a lot like falling asleep
Instead of falling into sleep
I’m falling into your arms
Who needs rest?

The stars
Are just rain marks
Of you and I
Water damage from us
Imprinted in the night skies

Author's Note

So, question of the poem! What’s your favorite tree? I’ve personally always wanted an apple tree. I love how the red sticks out. Also, this Saturday my writing will be back on Writing’s On The Wall! Reading a book about meditation yesterday, the writer explained the only things that truly exist in life are the things we experience via the sensory -- everything else is an illusion of overthinking. Only what truly happening in the moment, in a sensory way, is real. That's why I love a poem that SHOWS us what it's like to be in this sensory place, just feeling the surroundings. Your poem makes sparkling use of relatable imagery we can feel with all the senses & your title line is the kind we all wish we'd thought of (((HUGS)))

What a heartfelt poem; I almost shed a tear! All the adjectives used, the images to show us the love that transpires in this poem; you mention "carrying the heart", snowflakes set you free is a lovey phrase; and you mention the stars, so alluring, so cosmic, so radiant; this could all be a memory, but no matter, it is still
