Autumn Comes, With A Hazy Coffee Sun

Summer's drawing to a little bit of a close

Peach, watermelon and pineapple goes

Yellow and green gets replace with a paint job of orange and purple

If you know, you know

In only so many more days

We'll be in a bit of a cinnamon haze

Fall and all

Glowing orange trees and you always stand so tall

Baking leaves

Nutmeg sugar cookies

Orange, purple, black

All over

Did you get to know her?

Fall and all

Together we'll find a new way to start autumn

They say I lost my brains but

I still got them

And do you ever think about how high the sky is?

Apple and maple

Get costumes ready if your able

Craft stores and welcoming doors

Iced coffee 

Give you my hoodie

Tell you what you mean to me

As the leaves rise in a call to storms

I don't mind watching something gory

Just not gross

I still struggle with my phobia, you know

But I'll breathe and let it go

It's not 2020 or anything else painfully slow

After fall

I promise you, snow will cover the brick walls

A bit different than my normal! Not as many intense metaphors, hehe (:. Fall is coming already! What's your favorite season? I have a soft spot for summer and winter, but I love all the seasons. Have a great, wonderful day. (:

Oooohhh, a cinnamon haze? What a great analogy! LOVE this piece. I was JUST thinking this morning (despite the heat) that autumn is right around the corner. So many sights and sounds, visions, etc that are being thrown at the reader here. I'm soaking them all in. LOVE this time of year and your take on the changeover :)

leaves on trees the smells of
firewood and scents of cedar
autumn is filled with so many
wonderful foods and events
a potpourri of good things

I love the repetition of the line "fall and all"---there are so many wonderful things that come with fall...a breather from the heat and humidity....Halloween, my favorite holiday...
It will be so colorful....where we play tennis, I adopted a Maple tree...it is the most beautiful when it dons its fall colors...
2020 was so rough, hopefully 2021 will not take a turn for the worse and we can just enjoy the orange and black.
I am up for that cinnamon haze....and will join you for that cuppa if don't mind the company.

Everyone adores summer but my true love has always been fall. She listens to my sadness in every boring call. Haha. I love the way the leaves look in the fall. All the earthen sleepy colors with a bit of sorrow in them. There is a mysticism in the air. So ancient and primordial. And nature always sings a sadder song in these days.
