Winter's Kiss

Winter's Kiss

A Poem by CoffeeInfused

Between the flurries
She walks,
Untouched-
No footprint left behind
In the powder below.
She comes to me-
The Woman in Winter
The Siren of Snow,
Her eyes like ice
Over a frozen lake

Trapping me
In a soft embrace,
She wraps herself
Around my form,
Each icy kiss
Steals my breath
Before it can frost
And fade
In the cool air

Every caress sends a chill
Up my spine-
Face burning red
As her fingers reach
Through my jacket,
Under my shirt,
Seeking the warmth within.
My body stiffens at her touch,
But
I can't turn away,
I could never turn away...

So it is that
The fragrant,
Heady
Perfume of Spring
Holds no allure-
The sticky Summer months,
Wet and dripping,
Hold no sway-
Even the brilliant
Evening dress of Fall
Cannot excite me-
I only long for
Winter's kiss.

I'm so glad I stopped by to see if you had been writing. This is magical. You set a lovely mood and the romance is perfect. Not over done, well stated that you draw your reader along splendidly. Really enjoyed this one, CI!
Hmm - winter has a way of getting us to think of warm thoughts! ;)
Glad to read you again
