Winter

Winter

A Poem by CoffeeInfused

Winter comes slowly
Silent, in the night
Stalking through the darkness
Chased away in light

Until it then grows bolder
And sinks in icy claws
Heralding the frozen months
With hoarfrost on its jaws

Roaming like a savage beast
It prowls across the land
Til spring and sun and flowers
Chase it to its den

In time, it will slumber
Through the summer months
Dreaming when it can again
All life once more affront

Yet it serves its purpose
To remind us in its thrall
That nothing lasts forever
There is an end to all

But life once more
Begins to creep
Slow across the land
And remind us too
That it will keep
Returning once again

This is nice, I really love wintertime! (You seem to think otherwise!) The iambic meter you keep is very nice, although it falls off in a few places -- if you can clean the meter, this will be wonderful.
