FragmentsA Poem by CoffeeInfusedSome unfinished or otherwise poetic scraps that I haven't done anything with yet or don't feel like they're finishedClouds
Above, above, in the big blue sky The clouds float and drift slowly by Bright and billowing, shifting away Borne along, aloft, by a gentle wind
To watch from the ground, sometimes One must wonder if the clouds Choose their shape Or it chooses them, Only to change on a whim
Wings
An angel can’t fly On broken, tattered wings And man can’t live alone On his shattered dreams
Pinions torn Feathers shorn Fly to close to the fire To desire And you’re going to burn
Now, his flight Is naught but a broken dream Cast down from on high He laments, he weeps
But broken dreams Can be repaired And stormy skies, They can be fared Leaving you, perhaps stronger For all the wear and tear
Scars
Bodies bear scars Just as the inside Itself is marred Built again after Being torn apart We’re all made of Battle scars And broken hearts
Sewn back together After every new fight Tell ourselves we’re ok And it’ll be alright Each day is new And there’s always light Even when it’s dark Enough to hide All our scars And broken hearts
Fire
Tied up and bound To let desire run free I wanted to play with fire Til the fire played with me
The flames lick about my skin And scorch me to my soul Only when I’m burned away Do I feel myself made whole © 2013 CoffeeInfusedReviews
