Collapse
A Poem by CoffeeInfused
I shut my mouth
So I can scream
And fill my mind
So I don’t dream
Smile wide
To hide my pain
And close my eyes
To see my gain
Cut myself
But leave no mark
And with bleeding pen
Stitch back my heart
Burning brightly
So I can fade
And give away
The things I’ve made
Make progress toward
My relapse
Standing ground
I start to relax
Lose my mind
And start to collapse

I like the structure and flow of the poem. Content is disturbing. I've never understood cutting and therefore refrain from commenting where I can't fathom the reasoning, etc.

More along the lines of being wounded in the way of heartache and such, honestly. Emotional pain, sometimes like physical, can be one of those things we poke at to see just how much it hurts, regardless of whether we should or not

It's actually quite clever now that I've pulled my head out of my arse. I still fell a slight 'suicide' feel to it as well, but the 3d stanza refers (to me) of bleeding, pouring it out on the page.... And of course, I definitely understand that! Thanks for commenting to clarify so I'd read it again ;)
