Senescence in Retrograde

Senescence in Retrograde

A Poem by CoffeeInfused

A curious thing

What we call “age”

Life’s song, melody growing

In our book, turn the page

Reverting once more

To a childlike stage

As time marches on

Body, mind fades-

One of life’s funny quirks

Senescence in retrograde

This would be the perfect accompaniment to a picture I saw today of a toddler and elderly lady looking at each other - both using a walker. Life has a funny way of turning the tables as we get older.
