History (How It Ends)

History (How It Ends)

A Poem by CoffeeInfused

I watch you smile and wonder

Will you repeat history?

Are you telling him the same sweet lies

That you once told to me?

Do you hold him in the dark

And promise to never go astray?

Will he turn one day to find

You’ve up and run away?

Don’t misunderstand

I Hope you’re happy, true;

But I still think of you and I

And why we’re suddenly through

Maybe I’m just weak

And cannot let things go

If you think of you and I

Please don’t let me know

You turned your back

And I turned mine,

We went around our bends

No going back, no turn about

This is how it ends

Is this how it ends?

Oh the tales we weave. I can chuckle at this one, can't I? It is relatable to so many. I'm just going to leave my review at that... and keep my other thoughts on this poem and any relatable stories to myself!

History repeats itself when it's to this subject...just has a way of doing so...
