The Iceman Comes

The Iceman Comes

A Poem by CoffeeInfused
"

Something scribbled out fairly quick, it's not all that great :P

"
Caught between despair and anger
I find myself an unknown stranger
No purpose in life,
No reason or rhyme
Stuck here pondering
All my wasted time

No other half, no soul's mate
Just a loophole in the web of fate
I try and i try
I fight and survive
Not meant to be
Just too stubborn to die

But I'm alright, yeah
I'm just fine
I'll keep my head down
And follow the line
Build a wall around myself
Keep my heart upon a shelf
Force myself cold and numb
Beware, all,
The iceman comes

I'll turn away from anything
That may cause false hope to spring
Any bridges left, I'll set afire
Watch the rolling flames dance higher
Leave the embers on the funeral pyre
No second thoughts
Or renewed desire
Like a broken string
That no longer can strum-
Heart of ice
And emotionally numb-
Beware all,
The iceman comes
