A Visage of a Lonely ManA Poem by CoffeeInfusedA visage of a lonely man Degrades slow in an ocean of sand Immortal, unending; yet wasting away Whittled, worn, day by day
If I was made to be alone Why not embrace this and make it my home Never needing another, always on my own- A rock, a pillar, for family and friend More concerned for their sake Than for my own end
If I was made to suffer And bear another’s cross Then I think that I should find The price should meet the cost Perhaps it best To turn myself to stone And make peace the heavy burden Of forever being alone
And if time should come When I should waste away Then I welcome it, And accept my ending Never going astray Simply weathering on Until my final day From dust is whence I came And so, in time, there I shall remain © 2013 CoffeeInfusedFeatured Review
