Gimmie a Long Wooden Jacket

Gimmie a Long Wooden Jacket

A Poem by CoffeeInfused
"

More blues-y stuff, I imagine. Eventually I'll compose the music to go with these

"

Gimmie a long wooden jacket

And cinder block shoes

Might as well start trying

Nothing left to lose

I want that Chelsea grin

I want a Glasgow smile

You know I’m here to stay

At least a little while

Big black Mariah

Gimmie those keys-

She’s the only girl around

To satisfy my needs

No hand left to play

Worst luck in the cards

Getting up’s the easy part-

It’s the going down that’s hard

Columbian necktie

Dead man’s hand

And all that I can say

Is “Hey now, aint this grand?”

I want a long wooden jacket

And cinder block shoes

Love’s a four-letter lie

And that’s the honest truth
