Coffee and Cigarettes

Coffee and Cigarettes

A Poem by CoffeeInfused
"

So, I went and wrote a sad country song. It's not great, but I figured I'd post it anyway

"

Baby, you’re gone

And I’m here all alone

All out of whiskey and beer

I’m tired of this game

Can’t drink away my pain

So I’ll just sit here and think

All the memories come back

I find just one fact

A constant in my situation-

[chorus]

Coffee and cigarettes

Make the best breakfast

When you’re all alone

Baby, please come home

So I’ll light up the next one

And smoke til’ the last one

Nicotine my faithful friend

And I’ll have another cup

Of that silky black stuff

Don’t need no sugar

I’ll take it rough

As I sit here and think

[chorus to “Baby, please come home”]

That’s all I’ve had, since you’ve been gone

Here in this empty home

Coffee and cigarettes

Make the best breakfast

When you’re all alone

But I finally found

Two friends that hung ‘round

I’ve been with coffee and cigarettes

Too long
