What Never Was Mine

What Never Was Mine

A Poem by CoffeeInfused
"

Actually kind of a song idea, grungy blues, in my mind

"

This pied-piper slowdance

Led an ill-fated romance

That was destined to die

And so I swing

To the tune

Like a hanged man in time

I can’t give away

What never was mine

Don’t feel distressed

My heart’s no longer in breast

An empty void deep inside

I’m dried-up and bleach-boned

All skull and crossbones

A poisonous husk now decayed

And so, I sway

Like a hanged man in time

For I can’t give away

What never was mine

A relatable theme. The tone to this is very well done, and after reading your note under the title - definitely could imagine this as a song, grunge? Gotta hear it. Do as a spoken word, or if you're talented, set up a sound cloud link or video for us. Would love to hear it.
