You Are Not AloneA Poem by CoffeeInfusedSomething a little more hopeful than most in my galleryLife can seem, at worst of times A trial to stand on our own Though no matter how bad things get Take simple solace in the fact that You are not alone
For those of us who spent our time Lost in broken homes, Either a victim of indifference Or nursing broken bones I just want you to remember You are not alone
For us who spent so long Running from ourselves Building walls and hiding pain Upon mind’s sagging shelves A smile, a mask, against the grain You are not alone
Those of us who doubt ourselves, Depreciate, self-loathe Always finding another fault Another failure in the vault Another brick into the wall You are not alone
Broken hearts are plenty found Though some are hard as stone From things they can’t atone Hope and faith To pain and loss You are not alone
Loneliness, a heavy burden Is helped by family and friends Maybe even one like you Sharing in your sins They can help you out If you’ll let them in If you take a hand You are not alone
I’d like to say that it gets better Just one day at a time I’d like to say that it gets better If you stand and try Though try and fall, get up again Take a breath, a second wind And just keeping moving on And if you doubt, I assure you now You are not alone. © 2013 CoffeeInfused |
