Seasons of Love

Seasons of Love

A Poem by CoffeeInfused

Love has seasons, just like anything

Winter, Fall, Summer, Spring

Change of pace, and passage of time

Each their own song, each their own rhyme

In Spring, love shines true

Shy and fearful, fresh and new

Soft and ephemeral

As early morning dew

As Spring turns to Summer

This love burns hot-

A bright sun blazing high

Ending, it knows not

But Fall brings a chill

A quiet doubt creeps in

Diminishing warmth

And spreading it thin

Winter brings cold, shrill winds and ice

Fouling of love, and changing of life

No more will a simple inner fire suffice

Death to all pretty things, it brings pain and strife

And yet, still hope, green life under snow

A tentative glimpse of what still lies below

Waiting to burst through, and begin once again

For seasons keep changing, years without end
