What It Takes To End A Life

What It Takes To End A Life

A Poem by CoffeeInfused
"

Vent

"

Like a gentle satin slice

From a sharp and gleaming knife

All it takes is one tender little push

To quickly end a troubled life

Free the blood and empty veins

Pulsing life, it quickly drains

A quick report and burning lead

Swiftly eases aching heads-

As the softly smoking barrel

Of a freshly fired gun

Whispers softly and sincere

“When all is said and done

Just how far will you try to run?”

A tightly knotted noose

That desperate fingers cannot loose;

A handful of prescription pills

Seeking one last final thrill;

Or standing on a windswept ledge

Peering off on trembling legs-

Into the abyss, how long can you gaze

Until it sets your mind ablaze

With feverish, frantic, frightening thoughts

Pushing toward a fatal flaw

Into Death’s hungry maw

But what about a battered, broken heart?

Torn to pieces, strewn apart

Given away in faith and hope

Until love ran and did elope

Leaving behind thick scars and pain

Melancholy and disdain

What’s the price for a tortured soul

When oneself is no longer whole

Left in torment and bitter strife

What does it take to end a life?

I've read several of your writings. You have talent. Although I hate to comment on the subject matter because suicidal thoughts are riddled with such a mixed depth of pains I'm I'll equipped to discuss that topic without great length. Your writing is very well thought out and presented. Although this topic isn't of my taste, your style of writing is quite worthy of attention.

Thanks, it's mostly just vent, but I appreciate the compliment on my writings though!
